1. Echo Mountain

Idaho Springs, 50 minute drive

Echo Mountain is the closest snow tubing place near Denver, located in the charming town of Idaho Springs. You’ll get 6 lanes of tubing with a conveyor belt to bring you back to the top. Race each other in difference lanes, or link together to go down as one happy family 🙂

Adult Cost: $25-$45 depending on day of week

Minimum age: none, but must be 36″

Ride with a parent: No

2. Hoedown Hill

Windsor, 1 hour drive

Hoedown Hill may not be in the mountains of Colorado, but this tubing hill near Denver does not disappoint. You’ll get 14 lanes of fun across 2 different tubing hills.

First, you’ll get the Bushwhacker, the LONGEST tubing hill in North America. If that’s too intense or your child isn’t tall enough (42″ requirement), then head over to Greenhorn Hill for a more beginner experience.

Adult Cost: $35+ (for 1.5 hour slot)

Minimum Age: 36″ for Greenhorn, 42″ for Bushwhacker

Ride with parent: No

3. Copper Mountain Tubing Hill

Copper Mountain, 1 hour 20 minute drive

Enjoy tubing on 4 lanes of what many consider the best place to snow tube in Colorado! You can ride the magic carpet back up and do it all over again.

Guests can pay to park nearby, or park in the free Alpine lot about 50 yards away.

Adult Cost: $44+

4. Keystone

Keystone Resort, 1 hour 20 minutes drive

Head to Mountaintop Snow Tubing to enjoy one of Colorado’s best winter activities! Head to River Run Village and find the start at the gondola at the ticket counter. You can come anytime during open hours; you don’t have to select a specific hour.

While the tubing hill is awesome, the downside that if you don’t already have a ski pass, you’ll have to purchase tickets per run, which isn’t cheap. Though as long as you pay and ride up, you’ll definitely want to also stop at the largest snow fort in the world at the top of the gondola…and it’s free to roam through.

Grab a lift pass and ride the gondola up to the top where you’ll find the tubing hill.

Adult Cost: $20+, more for a lift up.

5. Frisco Adventure Park (nordic center)

Frisco, 1 hour 20 minutes drive time

Frisco Adventure Park is located just a short jump off I-70, making it very accessible. It’s great for many winter activities like snowshoeing, nordic skiing…and tubing!

Enjoy your hour session (or book back-to-back sessions for extra fun) and then head into Frisco Haus at the day lodge for some hot chocolate and snacks.

6. Colorado Adventure Park

Fraser, 1.5 hour drive

Enjoy multiple snow lanes of varying difficulty and speed! This is one of the few places kids as young as 3 can participate, but they must be in a double tube with an adult. A Magic Carpet lift is ready to bring you back up!

You can also enjoy concessions and a warming hut if you need a break.

Adult Cost: $35 single tube, $55 double tube

Minimum Age: 3 (ages 3-5 must be in double tube with adult)

Ride with parent: In a double, but not in one tube

7. Fraser Tubing Hill

Fraser, 1.5 hour drive

The Fraser Hill isn’t far from the one above, and it also allows kids as young as 3 to join the fun. Kids 3-6 must ride with an adult.

You’ll get towed back up the hill after you ride down and get to warm up by the fireplace inside if it gets too cold.

Bring your own picnic or purchase snacks on-site.

Adult Cost: $30-$35/hour (depending on date). Can also purchase for 90 minutes.

Minimum Age: 3

Ride with parent: YES, ages 3-6
